My little chicks have spread their wings and they've

And we old birds have stayed behind in the nest,
All we can hope is that life will treat them kindly.

I always knew one day this moment would come,
And that we'd have to let them go,
But when it came, it took me right by surprise
So it's no wonder that I'm feeling so low.

The two of us are left alone in the nest,
