Meet Tamar Münch, professional promoter of all your favorite TV faces.

What do you do for a living?

I am the Head of Publicity for South Pacific Pictures which means I oversee the publicity for all of our film and television productions as well as the company’s trade marketing and publicity. I also manage our publicity team (which consists of me and three others).

What is the best thing about your job?

No day is the same as the one before and I get to work with some great people.

How did you end up in this job?

At the end of my first year of university, I got a part time job as the Publicity and Casting Assistant at Shortland Street. That was back in the very early days of Shortland Street and the Publicist at the time needed a bit of administrative assistance.  Within about six months, Shortland Street’s popularity had soared and the publicity component of my role became full time.
Since then I’ve worked in a bunch of roles within the TVNZ publicity department; I had a brief stint at a corporate PR firm; I worked as an Events and Film Facilitator at Auckland City Council; and I also worked as a publicist at the Seven Network in Melbourne.  My current role has brought me in a full circle back to South Pacific Pictures where I started out half a lifetime ago!
